Professor Anil Gupta's book on 'Grassroots Innovation' has been well received by nation's President Pranab Mukherjee.
Prof Gupta of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, is also Vice-Chairman of National Innovation Foundation.
Congratulating Gupta, Mukherjee said he was deeply appreciative of his efforts and painstaking work to promote the innate creativity and innovative potential of people from last mile. President conveyed his best wishes to Gupta and his team "to continue their march in adding value to the ideas and innovations of communities at grassroots level and expressed his view that "government should provide institutional support to the grassroots innovators".
"Dr. Gupta's book is about stories of extraordinary men and women who are silently contributing in the innovation movement for the economic development and advancement of society, their efforts will not be appreciated if necessary linkages between the relevant stakeholders are not established. The Government should provide institutional support to the grass root innovators. The Festival of Innovations organised every year by Rashtrapati Bhavan in collaboration with National Innovation Foundation has helped to bring together creative energy from different domains," he added.
